Why this is hard to copy
Testimony is only as good as the seats behind it
An expert is credible to the extent that the other side cannot say the work was theoretical.
The record here is a seat on a city council, the chair of its planning and zoning committee, an appointment in 2009 by Governor Jay Nixon to the Missouri Housing Development Commission, which allocates the credits, and a development company that has closed the transactions being argued about.
Each of those is documented in contemporaneous press coverage, not in a biography written afterwards. That is the part that survives cross examination.

What this is built on
The firm does not ask to be taken at its word. 31 accounts of the work, and the 230 published clippings written at the time, are open to read.
We can’t predict the future. We can predict the room.
Public, private, nonprofit or philanthropic, we know the questions that room will ask and where a deal is likely to break. We spent our years doing the work, not writing about it, so our advice carries lived experience, practical knowledge and academic preparation.
